Quality
Issues....
To radiators, QUALITY means: effective at heat-exchange,
constant performance, long life, easy assembly, safe
transport...
Below we would like to discuss some items which will
influence quality:
Fin height: At most situation, less distance between
tubes will make radiators more efficiently, e.g., fin height at
8mm will better than fin height 9mm. On the other side, radiator
with 9mm fins will save material than 8mm.
Thickness of Header: for big tanks, the header-plate
will bear more pressure. Then, thickness of the header-plate are
important. Normal 1.5mm thickness are not enough. The designer
must notice this.
Radiator Tube: Usually, Al radiator use HF tube. (
high frequency welding tube). This tube includes 3 layers:
4343/3003/7072. The inside 7072 clad are very important to prevent the corrosion from
water.
There are another kind of tube--extrude tube. This tube
hasn't 4343 outside to help braze, none 7072 inside to
anti-corrosion, but it's cheap. We found another problem from
extrude tube are the hardness. It's weakly than the HF tube due to
the process while the extrude tube are making.
Tank: Tanks are made from PA66 reinforced by glass
fibre. Longer glass fibre helpful for the strength of tank. And
good Nylon will provide necessary performance to anti frozen and
high temperature. Recycle plastic has short fibre. If the
recycle plastic mixed inside the tank, the Nylon are poor
performance, and short fibre are helpless to the strength.
Ruble gasket: It must be EPDM. And it has to design in
correct shape. Otherwise, The small components will influence
the radiators' life.
Oil cooler: Since the cooper are very expensive, some
tube oil cooler has changed to Al. In this case, if the fitting
are still cooper, between cooper and Al may has electrochemistry
reaction. The Al will lost very soon. That's the designer must
attention to.
Package: stronger carton, are very important for long distance transport. And
good print, will help the end clients like the products.
TechRad are using 8mm fins, HF tube for its product, even
it's expensive. All the process are under
control. A lot of paper work has been done while a product is
making. We think traditional process and material will bring
constant quality and constant quality are
the 1st important target. |
